Gustavo Vinagre (1985) is an award-winning Brazilian filmmaker with over 14 short films and six feature films in his filmography. His debut feature, Nova Dubai (2013), won the Best Debut Film award at FICCI 2015. His work is known for its provocative exploration of the relationship between the private and the political, using sex as a form of resistance. In his films, where he often also appears as an actor, he challenges concepts like pornography and obscenity. Currently, his work is being showcased in retrospectives at film festivals.
